Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Sunday
A weak and mild upper trough that maintained low clouds over parts of the Puget Sound region and west slopes of the Cascades on Saturday will push eastward Saturday night, allowing a flat ridge to work its way into the region helping the low clouds to dissipate. The ridge and its amplification should maintain dry weather and begin an increasing temperature trend through Monday morning, with temperatures remaining above freezing up to 6000-7000 ft Saturday night and 7000-8000 ft Sunday night. Expect fair weather on Sunday with generally increasing clouds along the west slopes of the Cascades during the day, while the east slopes of the Cascades remain mostly sunny and 10-15 F warmer. Sunday night should be mostly clear.
Expect increasing clouds on Monday as a moderately strong frontal system approaches from the WNW. The is expected to spread light rain to the Olympics and Mt. Baker areas during the late afternoon.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Sunday night through Sunday
The frontal system weakens as it moves onshore and spreads light to moderate rain SE Monday night and Tuesday, but it may still produce some heavier rainfall in the central Cascades on Tuesday in areas of convergence on a westerly flow. Temperatures cool much more significantly in the north than the south Monday night and Tuesday, allowing higher elevations in the North Cascades to pick up some light snowfall. Tuesday afternoon and evening, light showers should dissipate and end with a clearing trend as a subtle ridge rebuilds in the wake of the system.
