Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Thursday
A weak trough associated with a primary low pressure near the California/Oregon border brought light snow to areas west of the Cascade Crest above 4000-4500 ft with light E flow keeping the Cascade Passes cool enough for some wet, accumulating snowfall. The light rain and snow shower activity should gradually diminish during the evening hours on Saturday with a shift to W flow likely to change Snoqualmie Pass to rain. The locations of precipitation are difficult to forecast due to the disorganized nature of the system, but models suggest some weak convergence activity in the central Cascades. The trough axis shifts eastward overnight as a large ridge begins encroaching upon our region. This will bring a drying trend with a shift to a more northerly flow after midnight, cutting off most of the light rain and snow shower activity.
Expect weak winds to allow low clouds and potentially light drizzle to linger in some areas west of the Cascade Crest on Sunday, with fairer weather at high elevations and east of the Cascade Crest. Sunday night and Monday, expect mostly clear and fair weather with spatial extent of low clouds and fog possible gradually diminishing as the ridge axis drifts to our coastline by late Monday. Expect freezing levels to rise significantly, particularly west of the Cascade Crest. However, E flow may keep the Passes slightly cooler than areas further west.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Thursday
Conditions remain mild throughout. Monday night, the ridge axis crosses our region as a frontal system moves into our region Tuesday, bringing light to occasionally moderate rain and high elevation snow. Post-frontal activity Tuesday night appears highly variable intensity in the models, but should not be a major event with temperatures too warm for snow at most locations. Wednesday looks to be mostly dry with a weaker ridge over the region.
