Weather Synopsis for Tuesday night through Thursday
The short-term weather forecast looks damp and mild. Expect precipitation to move south and become more widespread Tuesday night and Wednesday. Most of the moisture should stay north of the Columbia River, leaving Mt Hood mostly dry. Snow levels ought to remain above most trailheads during the storm. As a result, you're likely to find rain and high elevation snow in most locations. Temperatures will slowly fall Wednesday through Thursday, but by this point, most of the precipitation seems to have moved out of the region.
Wednesday night and Thursday appear dry and cooler. You may find a few scattered rain and snow showers around the Washington Cascades, but most of these showers should be short-lived and only bring trace amounts of accumulation. A weak high pressure-ridge will allow for a bit of drying to occur over the area before our next chance at rain and snow late Friday into Saturday.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Thursday
A more developed storm system should begin to approach the West Coast Friday and Friday night. The bulk of the system seems to impact southern Oregon and California. However, moisture associated with this low-pressure is expected to move up from the south and west into the region. The weather models continue to struggle with how much precipitation will reach our area. We'll have to wait and see how this one plays out as the weekend draws near.
