Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Wednesday

A surface low-pressure system is forming off the B.C. coast under a developing upper trough. Cool NW flow aloft will cause the low to track across the forecast area later Tuesday and Tuesday night before exiting to the SE Wednesday.

Precipitation will develop later Tuesday morning in the north and quickly fill into the south by midday. Freezing levels slightly rise through Tuesday evening, but remain relatively low and lower further overnight and Wednesday. The peak precipitation associated with this storm will be centered around Tuesday evening, turning to showers overnight.

The mid-level flow becomes more northwesterly Tuesday night behind the front which will be favorable for the formation of a convergence zone. Expect areas near Stevens to Snoqualmie passes to see heavier showers in convergence overnight.

Showers diminish quickly through the day Wednesday as high pressure rebuilds across the eastern North Pacific and the disturbance exits to the southeast.
