Weather Synopsis for Wednesday & Friday
On Wednesday morning, an elongated upper trough sits over the northeast Pacific with very warm, moist south southwesterly flow over the Pacific Northwest. Between more organized, wetter systems Tuesday and Thursday, today is a relative break in the moisture onslaught, but moderate rain is still present at some locations. Wednesday night into Thursday, a cold front crosses the Olympics and Cascades, bringing the high freezing levels back to more seasonal norms by Thursday evening. A shortwave will enhance the cold front on Thursday afternoon. Showers and decreasing moisture will follow the front as flow turns more westerly.
