Weather Synopsis for Friday night through Saturday
An offshore ridge and a trough in the interior are battling it out for influence over our weather. The trough scores a temporary victory in the near term as an approaching shortwave drops into the region on NNW flow. The shortwave should bring snow levels down to around 3500-4000 ft by Saturday morning, but with little moisture to work with, less than 0.10" of snow water equivalent can be expected from Mt. Baker to Snoqualmie Pass. Modest Fraser River outflow may help bring some cooler air into the region and pin some clouds against the northern edge of the Olympics on Saturday morning. Clouds linger into Saturday afternoon for the Cascades as the flow aloft turns northerly.
Subtle easterly low-level flow develops Saturday night through Sunday morning with seasonal temperatures across the region. Patchy low clouds may develop late Saturday night into Sunday morning, but they should mix out quickly leaving mostly sunny skies throughout the region on Sunday.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
The high pressure offshore continues to amplify, leaving us with dry northerly flow Sunday night, Monday, and Monday night. Expect very nice weather with freezing levels in the 5000-7000 ft range and mostly sunny skies. The European and Canadian models indicate a shortwave dropping south on NNW flow that may bring some light rain and high elevation snow shower activity starting late Tuesday, while the GFS maintains the influence of drier high pressure.
