Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Wednesday

Mild air has already intruded much of the region. Further increase in temperature are likely over the next several days as the Pacific Northwest should remain in the warm sector of a system approaching the British Columbia Coastline. Snow levels should generally be in the 4500-6000 ft range where precipitation is likely to fall. The approaching system should spread gradually increasing, but very light to light rain and snow, mainly to northern parts of Washington state through Tuesday. Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, expect more significant rain and snow (at snow levels above Stevens Pass level) before the trailing front and associated precipitation fizzle over Washington State Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Wednesday night through Friday

Wednesday evening, light rain and high elevation snow end, with little cooling behind the system. Models differ on the amount of clearing to expect Wednesday night through Thursday night. A band of rain and snow may impact western Washington Thursday afternoon or evening ahead of a deep, cutoff low well off the Oregon Coast. More moisture should arrive with this low Friday afternoon into the weekend with continued above-normal temperatures. East flow is likely to develop on Thursday and should keep the east slopes of the Cascades slightly cooler on Thursday and Friday.
