Weather Synopsis for Sunday night through Wednesday
A weak warm frontal feature is bringing periods of light rain and snow to the region on Sunday. Precipitation should continue into the evening hours for most areas before stalling over the North Cascades where it will dissipate through Monday morning (as it's parent low cuts off and moves southward off the California Coast).
The bigger story is the temperature trend. Areas west of the Cascade Crest have been moderating on Sunday and will continue to do so through Tuesday night. However, east of the Cascade Crest, temperatures are still quite cold with a decreasing E flow should keep the Cascade Passes and E slopes below freezing through mid-morning on Monday. Late Monday morning, we expect a shift to W flow at the passes and sharp warming for Snoqualmie and Stevens Passes and some locations along the E slopes with above freezing temperatures arriving to lower elevations.
Most areas can expect fair weather Monday afternoon through Monday night, although it is possible that some moisture will work into the Baker area ahead of a weak system gradually sagging southeastward toward the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday. By Tuesday, expect light rain with high elevation snow from this system spreading southward and increasing across the northern Washington half of state on Tuesday.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Wednesday night through Wednesday
Tuesday night and Wednesday, the weak frontal system continues pushing southward into the region, but subtle ridging forces the main energy and moisture to stay north in British Columbia.
The subtle ridging persists Wednesday night as any weak post-frontal activity ends. On Thursday, winds increase as flow shifts southerly, E flow picks up, and light rain/snow may lift across the region ahead of a more powerful system slated to arrive on Friday.
Snow/freezing levels remain above the seasonal norm throughout the extended forecast period.
