Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
A relatively stationary low spins off the California coast through the short-term forecast period. Easterly flow continues to bring cold, dry continental air across the Cascades and moderates the air to the west of the Cascade Crest. This pattern should continue with E flow strongest on Sunday night, so expect strong, gusty winds from North Bend to Snoqualmie Pass.
A warm front associated with the stationary low should lift northward across the region late Sunday night through the day on Monday; shearing, and weakening as it does. The front is likely to bring minor amounts of accumulating snow with the highest accumulations forecast for the Mt. Hood and Paradise areas (likely less than 6" of snow).
The spinning low moves southward and separates from the moisture over our region Sunday night, leaving mostly cloudy conditions with decreasing periods of very light snow. Flurries may continue early Monday before ending.
Sunday through Monday, the warm front should transport enough warm air northward to bring above freezing temperatures to some mid-mountain elevations, although easterly flow should keep locations east of the Cascade crest slightly cooler.
