Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Monday

The deep upper trough that brought upslope snows across the east slopes of the Cascades and to the Mt. Hood area yesterday continues to dig off the southern California coast while upper level ridging builds into northern British Columbia. 

The stratus deck currently in place from about I-90 and south along the east slopes of the Cascades down to Mt. Hood will begin to clear as the trough continues to pull away from our region tonight and Friday. 

A bright sunny day will grace the area tomorrow with temperatures moderating a bit and no significant winds forecast. 

The storm track will stay to our south on Saturday, with a Pacific frontal system approaching the Oregon/California coastline while we remain dry. We'll have to see if cloud cover increases ahead of this frontal system for the east slopes of the Washington Cascades and the Mt. Hood area as winds turn easterly once again on Saturday.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Monday

The aforementioned frontal system will lift north in southerly flow late Saturday night and Sunday. Precipitation looks very light and generally insignificant as the frontal boundary shears apart.  Our region will flop back to dry weather as we remain between a weak upper level low off the OR/CA coast and a frontal system aimed well north into northern British Columbia on Monday.
