Weather Synopsis for Wednesday night through Saturday
After a mostly clear night, an upper level low located to our south will shift inland and begin to push some high clouds and moisture into Washington State late tonight. Closer to the upper low, Mt. Hood will see the most cloud cover and the best chance for light showers through Thursday. Weakening offshore gradients will allow easterly winds to relax. With the clouds/moisture rotating up in SE flow on Thursday, more sun than cloud is expected from about Stevens Pass to the Canadian border although afternoon cumulus is possible in these areas. Temperatures will still be quite mild but freezing levels will be a notch lower than Wednesday.
After an uneventful and partly to most cloudy Thursday night, a weak negativily tilted upper level trough and assoicated frontal band will approach the Pacific coast on Friday. This should spread light showers into the Olympics during the afternoon. It is less clear if showers will pop up over the Cascades with marginally unstable atmospheric conditions are paired with daytime heating. Freezing levels will remain mild through Friday.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
The frontal boundary will lift through Friday night with isolated to scattered showers continuing on Saturday. Showers are not expected to be significant, with generally light amounts forecast mainly for the Olympics and west slopes of the Cascades. However, this front should usher in relatively cooler air, with freezing levels dropping to their lowest levels in over a week. Weak upper level ridging should return on Sunday leading to a mostly dry day.
