Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Saturday
An upper low over NW Oregon Sunday morning will drop SSE, giving way to a drying NNE flow across the region. Moderate Fraser river outflow is creating some light upslope snowfall along the northern edge of the Olympics, but this should diminish and end by 10 AM. NNE low-level winds may produce very light upslope snow flurries in some areas east of the Cascade Crest, such as the Wenatchee Mountains. In both cases, accumulations of around an inch or less are expected. Expect generally clearing skies today with some low clouds lingering in the Central Cascades with little mixing of the atmosphere.
Sunday night, the flow will be northerly and a modest surge of modified arctic air will move southward, east of the Cascade Crest. Very light upslope flow and snow flurries in areas such as the Wenatchee mountains is may continue. Otherwise, expect mostly clear skies and light winds with patchy low clouds and fog.
On Monday, very weak ridging will nose into the Pacific NW and southern British Columbia with northerly flow continuing. Mostly sunny conditions are expected with trace amounts of moisture touching off a few flurries in some locations.
Temperatures will remain below the seasonal norms throughout the forecast period.
