Weather Synopsis for Monday & Tuesday

A generally east-west oriented low-pressure trough is approaching from the west early Monday. The associated frontal band has been producing heavy precipitation over the Mt Hood area early Monday and should continue. The main energy associated with the front will lift northward across the remainder of the forecast area later Monday afternoon and overnight when the heaviest precipitation will fall.

Snow levels remain near sea level over the WA Cascades with somewhat warmer air over the Mt Hood area. Snow levels should rise later Tuesday behind the front.

Low pressure will weaken over the region Tuesday allowing for diminishing precipitation through the day.
