Jan. 2, 2018, 5 p.m. PST

Weather: Valley Fog w/ East flow. Ridge top winds SW mod-strong gusts. Below freezing temps.

Snowpack: Surface snow at low elevations is faceting above the crust and isolated surface hoar has formed. Windward areas are scoured to the crust. Above the inversion layer (about 4,800'), a sun crust formed on aspects that received radiation yesterday. Ski quality in the shade is fair in areas where snow has drifted in.

Area Description: Jim Hill

Avalanches: We saw signs of widespread Storm Slab debris from the last storm cycle. All slides were small and debris was still relatively soft.
