Recreational Observation

We rode blueberry chutes and the line all morning on the north side of Artists point. Deep powder and lots of features to play around on.

April 11, 2015, 4 p.m. PST

Weather: Snowing with intermittent breaks in the cloud cover.

Snowpack: Deeper saturated layers covered with a new layer of 10-12 inches of fresh. Storm slabs and wind loaded steeps seemed to be the most unstable. The temps were good until late afternoon when the sun broke through a little more.

Area Description: Table Mountain

Avalanches: Slough was observed in steeper sections all day, but in the afternoon a larger point slope avalanche was propagated in the gully right below artists. Luckily, no one was buried and the trip remains to be one of the best trips this year.
