W. aspect , 5000'- 8200'

May 7, 2017, 3:33 p.m. PST

Weather: Sunny 50 deg. calm.

Snowpack: 1-3" corn snow on firm but softening refrozen base. Plenty of snow to come down and cornices looming large. S. exposures at 8000' were wet unconsolidated guanch to the ground !

Area Description: Hwy. 20 , N.C.H. , Hairpin valley , Cuthroat and Libertybell avy. paths. Darwin awards audition zone .

Avalanches: Many very lg. avalanches , running peak to creek from 4/30 - 5/3 period . L.B. 2 ran on 5/4 - 5/5 crossing rd. Constant rock fall , mud and snow / ice releases thru out the day reaching hwy. between bicycle riders. No bowling pins knocked down or lost. Recommend probe line for recovery efforts if necessary being that no transievers or rescue gear is being employed by any other than a few B.C. Skiers within this corridor , even during active avalanche activity !
