Hwy. 20 NCH.

Weather: Sunny , warm , no wind .

Snowpack: 4-6" wet slushy loose snow on warming granular base . Fragile and unconsolidated .

Area Description: Hwy.20 , Cuthroat slide chutes . mi. 166.2

Avalanches: Active avy. cycle in progress with many releases of warming rock faces , some reaching road. Many Zombie cycleists , unresponsive to warnings of the dangers of traveling below these avy. chutes and rock faces , especially when active . None carry trans. , shovel ,probe ,emergency gear , or awareness , even though the DOT has posted that info. in the middle of the hwy. at Silverstar gate. Cycleist are the next user group in need of education focus . Hopefully this will happen before tragedy strikes ! X.
