West Slopes South - South of I-90 to Columbia River

Weather: Snowing heavily, light winds, temps just below 30 deg?

Snowpack: 4-12 inches of fresh snow on a hard heavy crust, pit test showed an obvious layer with well bonded consolidated snow underneath the newest layer

Area Description: East Peak at Crystal Mountain, 35 degree pitch 5700 ft of elevation just below tree line

Avalanches: 1 triggered as we were skinning across a small clearing in the trees. 12 inches deep, 20 ft(?) wide, ran slowly until it hit a crop of trees about 15 yards below us. Pitch was 35 degrees in this clearing, lesser angles had been unresponsive to cut tests.
