Standard Yodalin meddow approach to south/backside of Yodalin ridge.

Feb. 5, 2017, 2 p.m. PST

Weather: Snowing in the high teens/low 20s Fahrenheit.

Snowpack: Noted whumphing on the approach in open areas.

Area Description: The south facing back side of Yodalin, off of the ridge about 4600 ft elevation. The avalanche was triggered on a small open slope on a convex roll.

Avalanches: 25 ft wide with 2ft crown height. Triggered by second skier, first skier skied to safety. The avalanche was triggered on a small open slope on a convex roll. Angle of convex roll was 35-40.
