Weather: High clouds, light winds and noticible inversion (~5,000') throughout day.

Snowpack: 1/17 IFrc down 40 cms in elevation range toured (4-5,000'). Only had time for Compression test (CTH9 RP on 1mm FCxr above crust). Trees shedding remaining snow - rollerballs but not entraining snow on W slopes. W and N slopes still had good ski quality. Snow in old growth was a. It bombed but still skiing ok. No surface crust encountered in out limited touring area.

Avalanches: Few D1 wet loose observed on steepest roll in Highland Bowl.
