Summer trail then to upper basin, Ran into the mountain rescue crew and they advised me of their findings. Prompted me to have a closer look.

Jan. 14, 2017, 1:30 p.m. PST

Weather: Clear, wind out of the west estamated 7 to 10 mph, temps mid 20 ies. some snow transportation in exposed areas.

Snowpack: In the area I looked at there was 85cm total depth, 6000 east aspect 120 degrees, noticeable transformation at the snow ground interphase, preformed 2 CT with similar results CT 7/7 at 6cm Q3 CT 25/27 at 40cm Q 1 . Yesterday the entire basin was un affected by the wind, but today it was wind buffed in all but the most protected areas ( anything protected from a west wind) found good skiing in protected areas, but avoided steeper wind loaded areas.
