PCT to clear cut to forest service road to S-SW ridge

Jan. 12, 2017, noon PST

Weather: Clear, Calm, Sunny, Cold

Snowpack: Right Side up snowpack. Surface hoar developing on SW-S-SE aspects . S-SE solar effects noted. Rain Crust observed in snow profile pit at approx. 20 cms. One small wind slab observed on SSW aspect that was not reactive. SW aspects were skiing well with very minor, very small point releases on the steeper pitches.
