Dropped in just below the top

Jan. 4, 2017, 1:30 p.m. PST

Weather: Sunshine and cold

Snowpack: Very solid, some thin sun crust and wind transported snow to lookout for.

Area Description: Mt. Herman above treeline

Avalanches: One of us triggered a small wind slab. Caught air and landed in wind loaded zone which put too much weight on slab and caused it to release about 12" down. Small slab and didn't go more then about 100ft before stopping. Everyone was safe and made it out okay. Watch for wind loaded zones! This was on SE aspect just above treeline.
