Profile on east aspect around 2000 m/6000 ft, 30° slope. Nordic Ski Patrol route, 4th Xing to Inspiration Saddle.
Dec. 30, 2016, 1 p.m. PST
Snowpack: Several crusts: 7cm zipper crust, then firmer crusts at 59, 70, 84, 87cm. Fist-soft snow between crusts. Most reactive was 80 cm, very easy, smooth shear Q1. Weak interface with large grains at bottom of a 10cm thick crust (12/17?). Other details probably no longer useful at this point, apologies for the delay in posting here. It skied well for us and others. Very nice snow quality for touring all up and down Mazama Ridge. Some wind effect where exposed.
Area Description: Mazama Ridge.
