Recreational Observation

East Slopes Central - Lake Chelan to South of I-90

Dec. 30, 2016, 2 p.m. PST

Area Description: Two separate second hand accounts of slides in the hurricane ridge area. Both on northeast aspect, shaded slopes. Both fairly significant in size relative to the terrain and propagating significantly. The first was within the currently closed poma bowl on a small ledge adjacent to "avalanche" called cabin ledges. Skier triggered. The other was on the north side of the obstruction point road near "the slot". This was skier triggered with partial burial. No injuries. Both apparently slid on a shallower layer and stepped down to the apparent December 17 PWL. Didn't get a chance for first hand observation. I have a picture from the road of the slot avalanche but can't figure how to attach.
