Dec. 23, 2016, 2 p.m. PST
Weather: Intermittent snow and rime with moderate winds on ridges.
Snowpack: Approx 4-6 inches of fast, rimed snow overtop a firm crust made for easy travel and good skiing in low angle terrain. Moderate easterly winds during the day transported snow along unprotected ridges. New snow did not appear to bond well to firm crusts on most aspects and elevations, though no slides observed in consequential terrain.
Area Description: Skyline Ridge - Tye Peak
Avalanches: Intentionally triggered D1 windslab ~2-4" deep and 20' across on a small but steep mid-slope convexity. Some sluffing noted within the new slow in steeper terrain.
