Recreational Observation

Skinned up the road from Stevens Pass to North aspects at 5200' at ridge top. Descended South to Skyline lake and parking lot.

Dec. 4, 2016, 8 p.m. PST

Weather: Below freezing temps, Winds W, L-M all day. S1 in am to S-1 in afternoon. Broken to overcast sky all day.

Snowpack: Pit at 5200' North facing. 175cm HS. Snowpack is rightside up from the ground. CTH BRK Q3 down 55cm, ECT N 22 down 55cm. Ski pen was 35cm. Boot pen was endless. Small cornices and test slopes were reactive on S facing crossloads around 4500'.

Area Description: AIARE Level 1 with the Northwest Mountain School. Skykine Ridge.
