East Slopes North - Canadian Border to Lake Chelan

Nov. 24, 2016, noon PST

Weather: Mid.20s , Steady moderate snowfall. Lt wind in valley floor. 20mph wind in the alpine gusting higher on exposed ridges. Easterly flow.

Snowpack: Approx. 8" new storm snow , soft in valley , Forming sensitive wind slab in the alpine. The wind is rapidly affecting the new and upper snowpack in the alpine.

Area Description: 5 bowls S. of Wa. pass hairpin , N.C. hwy. 20 , WA , N. E. facing bowl 7000ft. Open alpine ringed with steep snow to rock faces.

Avalanches: R3 D2 wind slab. Approx. 8" crown , start zone just below cliff face. 150' wide , running 300' . Fresh , probably this morning as there was not much new storm snow filling in yet.
