West Slopes North - Canadian Border to Skagit River

Nov. 18, 2016, noon PST

Weather: Hi Cloud layer, started at several degrees below freezing at sunrise, rose up to just above freezing at around noon.

Snowpack: We dug a pit and reached rocky ground at about 1.5 feet. No instability. Could distinguish the snow from the day before, but it was sticking to previous snow very well.

Area Description: Mount Baker Backcountry, along the first part of Ptarmigan Ridge.
