Recreational Observation

East Slopes Central - Lake Chelan to South of I-90

March 15, 2016, 11 a.m. PST

Weather: Broken overcast ~27 F

Snowpack: Most areas were heavily wind affected, on more exposed ridges the new snow had been eroded to the last week rain crust. In the more protected areas the snow was still quite firm (wind board) but skiable. There was a weak bond between the rain crust, and the new snow, but the wind affected snow was mostly supporting, and isolated the sensitive contact. It was possible to find soft snow, but only in the most protected locations ( the last wind event appeared to be out of the west). Found a few good turns on north east aspects.
