Weather: Snowing and windy on ridge

Snowpack: 1.5-3 ft of fresh powder

Area Description: Trees in Newton Canyon

Avalanches: Set off numerous small slides (3-10 inch crown, 20-30 ft wide, 25-40 length) with ski cuts on convex features. Numerous hand pits showed easy failure at 3-4 inches. Could be problematic if buried by a lot of snow overnight.
