Recreational Observation

Took the snow lake summer trail out to near Source Lake. Never took this trail in the winter because of the avy hazard i know exists. Decided to try it today and it's very clear why this route has significant hazard. Saw a number of others on the trail also both on skis and snowshoes.

Weather: occasional rain, snow.

Snowpack: Wet and heavy

Area Description: Snoqualmie Pass

Avalanches: Saw many loose, wet avalanches that had come down in the last couple of days. Pretty much all south facing slopes had slid. Didn't see any come down while I was out there. The largest was about 300m wide and 300 m along the slide path. Probably R3D3.
