Source Lake - No Fog towards Pineapple Basin

Jan. 24, 2015, 4 p.m. PST

Weather: Light rain, warm (low 40s).

Snowpack: Fully saturated. Water running underneath snowpack in volumes and locations not normally familiar with. The top of the snowpack is smooth and supportable. Big concern is the water flowing at the ground. This will continue all hours next few days with high freezing levels.

Area Description: Alpental Valley

Avalanches: Wet loose from early Sat morning. Observed final icefalls dropping from RapWall cliff but did not entrain any loose snow. Again, the concern at these mid elevations is not the surface snow but the erosion underneath.
