Ski toured small groups on several runs 5400'-4400' w thru n aspects.

Jan. 19, 2015, 4 p.m. PST

Weather: Light snow all day. Ta= -3 c @ 12:00 @ 5400' Previous wind loading from mod-strong wsw winds sat-sun.

Snowpack: HS @ 5400' = 180cm HS @ 4600' = 110cm Localized whumphs prompted investigation of old/new snow interfaces on various Jan crusts underlying 13-16" of settled storm snow. North aspect @ 5400' ECTN with interface at 40cm down. West aspect @ appx 5100' ECTN with interface at 45cm down. Observed wind loaded pockets in open terrain well below treeline. Stuck with lower angle well supported terrain today.
