Recreational Observation

FS road 687, across/along side of clear cuts, along east side of Henry Creek, past waterfalls, onto west side (creek not open) and up to approximately 4800' before skiing out.

Jan. 6, 2019, 10 a.m. PST

Weather: Light (wet) snow from ~8:00 - 10:00, then rest of day was partly sunny and no precipitation. Almost no hint of wind. Did not have thermometer, but estimate around 30F, felt balmy.

Snowpack: 2-4" new medium-density snow (depending on elevation) on top of breakable crust. Areas alternating wind-scored, (slightly) wind-loaded, and fluffy storm snow on crust.

Area Description: Jim Hill Mt. (Henry Creek approach)

Avalanches: One (R1 D1?) loose dry on west aspect. Minor loose dry sloughing when skiing. Lots of older (snowed-on) avy debris in paths on west aspects coming from Point 5707 down to basin.
