Recreational Observation

Skyline to Yodalin via Nason Creek

Jan. 1, 2019, 1 p.m. PST

Weather: Cool, high clouds, light breeze on ridgelines.

Snowpack: 10” of well settled snow above the 4” thick rain crust with moist grains below, total HS 195cm @ 5200ft, NW. Also observed a thin layer of faceted grains above yesterday’s sun crust on southerly aspects (radiation recrystalization?), as well as surface hoar which seemed mostly confined to valley bottoms.
