West Slopes South - South of I-90 to Columbia River

Weather: CLR -9 deg C calm wind

Snowpack: HS 240. Approximately 90cm of snow sitting on top of stout 5cm MF crust/ice lenses. Surface hoar formation on surface. MF crust (from 12/28-12/29 rain) 40 cm down from surface. Buried SH 65 cm down from surface (layer of greatest concern). Sudden Planar shear quality on buried SH.

Area Description: Bear Gap - Crystal BC

Avalanches: SSASrR1D1O Approx 2:30 pm NE ~35 deg slope 6,200 ft. Triggered from flats below slope after multiple collapses were observed.
