West Slopes North - Canadian Border to Skagit River

Dec. 30, 2018, 9 a.m. PST

Weather: Snow showers, up to 20 mph wind at times. Snow level 2,000 feet.

Snowpack: New layer of powder 10"-20" depending on location in relation to wind unstable. Seen it crack several times on small, steep hills when riding in it.

Area Description: Peanut knob to Hood knob up from Schreiber's Meadow.

Avalanches: Watched one happen and noticed 4 others that happened while we were there. Only the top layer of fresh snow is what seemed to fall creating small slides.
