Up Commonwealth creek and SW Rib of Red Mountain. Turned around when we found questionable stability above a long 40 degree gully we intended to cross.

Feb. 1, 2016, noon PST

Weather: ~32F, mostly cloudy, occasional snow flurries

Snowpack: 10-50cm of storm snow on top of rain crust. CT16 Q3 10cm above rain crust on a graupel layer. Storm snow appeared well bonded to rain crust.
