Comments: Skiing on the SE side of Herman Saddle on Sunday afternoon I triggered an R1D1 wind slab slide on a SW aspect roll over at around 4600 feet. Approximate crown was from 4-8", about 100 yards across and ran for around 50 vertical feet. The slide was contained to the wind loaded storm layers of the previous 3 days and did not step down to the ice layers created earlier in the week from rain or any persistent layers from early January. I was able to ski to the perimeter of the slide when it started moving and was only carried about 20 feet before stopping myself. The only casualty was a pole which could not be found in the debris.
