Skinned up road with AIARE level 1 to saddle above lake. Then dropped north and skinned east to Moonlight. Descended to PCT.

Jan. 31, 2016, 6 p.m. PST

Weather: Sky-Broken to Overcast Precip- No Winds- Light and Variable Temps: Just below 0 C.

Snowpack: Dug a test pit at 5,000' East aspect. Top Meter rightside up F to P. CTM RP Q2 down 30cm at new snow interface with crust. CTM PC Q3 down 60cm. ETC X Maritme set up with polycrystals and rounds below 30cm new snow. We were able to still see SH layer from Jan 3. It is frozen in place. Could not find Jan 11 SH layer.

Area Description: Skyline-North to Moonlight.

Avalanches: None. Ski Test on 30-35 degree slopes (N to E) showed no signs instability.
