Recreational Observation

Poor visibility and gear breakdown kept us wallowing in Swift all day.

Jan. 30, 2016, noon PST

Snowpack: Fresh stuff is not well bonded with itself (but surprisingly well bonded with the rain layer below, I thought) and prone to sluff. Saw a couple tree bomb induced loose dry slides, all very small, but there. Dug a pit to about 1.75m and got little results. The old, percolated snow seemed to be refreezing nicely but certainly got warmer the deeper you went. Another party found water still percolating through in a deeper pit on a N aspect.
