Recreational Observation

Skied up Skyline. Dropped North and skinned up to Tye Peak, skied SE and ascended to Moonlight, skiing East to PCT. Skied all aspects but West.

Jan. 25, 2016, 4:05 p.m. PST

Weather: Sunny in AM with increasing cloud cover and very light snow showers in afternoon. Warm up on solar aspects was evident early in the day and slowed with cloud cover.

Snowpack: Ski test up to 35-40 degrees showed little results. Solar aspects showed wet loose releases in steep terrain that were widespread on slopes over 35 degrees. Shady slopes held excellent snow.

Area Description: Skyline-Tye Peak-Moonlight

Avalanches: Wet Loose widespread on solar aspects over 35 degrees.
