Recreational Observation

Union Peak to Jove Peak summit. Skied South slope of Jove. Heavy but excellent snow above 5000ft!

Weather: Partly cloudy.

Area Description: Union Peak to Jove Peak. Noted a variety of wind affected features on ridge tops. Wind slab appeared very localized near top of ridges. Dug a partial profile on SSE slope of Jove peak at 5500'. Snowpack appeared mostly right side up with mostly rounded grains or mixed forms below new snow. Thin breakable rain crust ~10-15cm down. Did not locate SH layer. CTM Q2 x2 at 50cm on layer with needle/dendrites larger than 2mm.
