Snoqualmie Pass

Weather: Source Lake obs. 09:45 hrs broken. T air 33d F. By 10:00 hrs significant increase in solar impact noted with increase sluff activity from cliff areas.

Snowpack: Source Lake obs. 9" +/- overlying rain crust.

Area Description: Alpental valley, Source Lake to Chair Peak/SL Divide.

Avalanches: Obs from entrance to Pineapple Basin. At about 11:00hrs natural wet loose release from about 5200ft, east aspect cliffs below Chair. Ran about 1200 vert, entrained new snow, D2. Slide split at apex of terrain feature fan above Source. Majority ran lookers left, with minor split lookers right of apex. Right split caught a party, apparently no burial. Other parties in the area continued to proceed up the fan, across the slide toward SL Divide.
