base area up past quicksilver lift into silver basin. Followed old skin track through the lower trees turned around at 6200' in the trees just below more open slopes.

Weather: Snowing hard starting out, snow stopped and it warmed up.

Snowpack: Encountered dense wind slab about 6000' and had shooting cracks at 6200' on SE facing slope. New snow accumulation was 6-12".

Area Description: Silver Basin Crystal S. Backcountry. SE Trees.
