Cat track from upper parking lot to Grace Lakes

Weather: Snow showers, a few sunbreaks, winds light, temps pretty mild

Snowpack: Fair amount of new snow. Surface snow got denser/wetter as the day went on and it warmed up. Some small rollerballs. The Mountaineers snowshoe class field trip included a demonstration snow pit dug on a roughly NE facing aspect just east of the first Grace Lake. Pit depth about 5' and no sign of any major crusts or PWL. Snow density F at surface to 4f at bottom.

Area Description: Grace Lakes

Avalanches: no signs visible in immediate vicinity. during a clearing about mid-day got a glimpse across to the south side of Skyline ridge and did not see any signs there.
