Weather: Cloudy with light snow and light wind.

Snowpack: Observed newer storm snow (25-30 cm, presumably fallen since New Years) was weakly bonded to older, settled powder. In lower elevations, we found what appeared to be buried surface hoar (see video).

Area Description: Red Mountain at Salmon La Sac, near Roslyn

Avalanches: Skiing from our high point at approx 5200', N aspect, ski cut a steep slope and was able to trigger a small slab avalanche running the length of the slope in the new snow. It did not propagate across the slope.
