Recreational Observation

Up and down standard route roughly following summer trail. 2730' to 6400'.

Dec. 29, 2015, 5:45 p.m. PST

Weather: Overcast, well below freezing, and nearly wind free all day.

Snowpack: Good powder skiing from top to bottom. A thin curst has formed on the surface at 4700' and above. Noticed similar zipper crust at same elevations on Jim Hill yesterday. Our best guess was freezing fog. Still skis well.

Area Description: Rock Mountain (US Highway 2, East of Stevens Pass)

Avalanches: No signs of instability. We skied a variety of features, including steep rolls, convexities, etc.
