Recreational Observation

Merritt Lake summer trail up to 6000ft high point between Merritt and Lost Lakes, followed ridge west of Merritt Lake SE to 5500 and got some decent turns fall line down the highway. Low snow below 3700 ft and lots of unpleasant brush.

Snowpack: Mostly right side up. Fresh snow from overnight was causing some very small loose dry slides. In some areas, there seemed to be a hoar frost layer underneath the 5-10cm of fresh stuff.

Avalanches: Wind loading on open SSE facing slopes around 4500 feet, west of Merritt Lake summer trail. Triggered small but still significant slide, went to more sheltered area after.
